Rabat – A Moroccan military-owned aircraft crashed into mountains in the south of the country. All the passengers numbering 80 people were killed.
As reported by AFP on Wednesday (07/27/2011), Moroccan military reported 78 people were reported killed instantly at the scene, while two others died in hospital.
King Mohammed VI announced a day of mourning for three days following the accident. The crash is considered as the worst accident in Morocco.
Previously, Moroccan authorities say 81 people were on board when the accident occurred. But after examination, one passenger was not on that fateful flight. Authorities immediately revise the number of victims.
Fateful plane crashed into mountains in the northeast Guelmin, approximately 830 kilometers from the capital Rabat. Most of the casualties were soldiers who took off from Laayoune to Agadir.
Besides the soldiers, this accident also killed the family members of soldiers who participated in the deadly flight.
